award for "conspicuous service" by the New York State Council on the
Arts.

The Smithsonian Institute
– Anacostia Wing Inaugural Ball dedicating the Museum of Black History
chose Jazzmobile to perform a three-day ceremony in Washington,
D.C.

1970 |
Mayor Lindsay proclaimed
July 1, 1970 as Jazzmobile Day.

1973 |
Jazzmobile received its
first "Encore" Award from the New York City Arts and Business Council
for Excellence and Community Service.

1974 |
Jazzmobile was designated
and remains a Primary Arts Organization for the New York State Council on
the Arts.

1977 |
Winipeg Art Gallery
program – Jazzmobile was invited by the Winnipeg Art Gallery (a major
Canadian Arts Institution) to design and implement a "Jazzmobile Unique
Week".

New York City Service
Award was
presented to Jazzmobile by New York's Mayor Koch.

1979 |
Jazzmobile received the
Distinguished
Service Award,
presented bye the Hispanic Community of East Harlem.

Jazzmobile was selected
to participate in the XIII Olympic Winter Games held at Lake Placid,
NY.

Jazzmobile received
$700,000 from the U.S. Department of Justice for a 2 year juvenile
delinquency alternative arts education project. Jazzmobile was one of 17
groups selected nationwide.

C.E.T.A. Bands-
Jazzmoibe's C.E.T.A. Bands were invited by the U.S. Department of Labor
to perform and participated at the dedication ceremony, April 10, 1980
in Washington, D.C. of the Francis E. Perkins Building at the Department
of Labor Headquarters.

Jazzmobile produced a
Jazz special for the National Public Radio, and for which the program
received the Peabody Award for Excellence in Broadcasting
Programs.

Jazzmobile received its

Jazzmobile was selected
to participate in the cultural programming of the 1984 XXII Olympiad
Games in Los Angeles, July 28 to August 12, 1984.

In March of 1982, Philip
Morris International contracted Jazzmobile to conduct a 2 week tour of
Belgium, Holland and France.

1983 |
In August of 1983,
Jazzmobile conducted a "ground breading" ceremony beginning the
construction/renovation for the Jazzmobile building.

1985 |
In the fall of 1985,
Philip Morris International contracted Jazzmobile to conduct a
three-week tour of European major cities (London, Paris, Lyon Brussels,
Lausanne, The Haugue, Antwerp, Lisbon, Munich, Frankfurt, Madrid,
Barcelona, and Milan).

Jazzmobile conducted a 20 performance concert tour in Australia, Japan,
the Philippines and Canada. The tour was sponsored by Philip Morris
International.

Concert to Dr. Billy Taylor at Avery Fisher Hall, part of the JVC Jazz
Festival, featuring Nancy Wilson, Ahmand Jamal Trio and Terence
Blanchard Quintet.

his Very Special Arts Award to Jazzmobile for its quality Arts Programs for all New Yorkers,
Particularly persons with disabilities or those at risk.

In the fall of 1992
Philip Morris International contracted Jazzmobile to participate in a
6-week international tour of France, Hungary, Italy. Germany, Turkey,
Holland, Israel, Greece, the Philippines, Korea and
China.
